Is Pumpkin Good for Dogs with Upset Stomach Symptoms?
The answer is “yes.” Just as ginger is good for humans, the same goes for dogs and adding pumpkin to the mix really helps! Pumpkin is full of nutrients and absorbs slowly in the digestive system. It is also high in fiber and can help if your dog has diarrhea. Here’s what you can do at home if your dog has upset stomach symptoms.
- Purchase canned pumpkin. Make sure it is NOT pumpkin pie mix. There’s a distinct difference, and the latter will have adverse effects.
- Purchase a ginger root.
- No need to peel the ginger, just shave small pieces of it into a jar mixed with the canned pumpkin.
- Give your pup 1/2 of a teaspoon to 1 tablespoon, depending on the size, mixed into their food.
- Do this once or twice a day, for the next 48 hours.
